What: A conference that gathers all education stakeholders concerned about edTPA (Co-sponsored by OurTC, Department of Arts & Humanities, Department of Curriculum & Teaching, endorsed by Barnard Education Program, Can’t Be Neutral, reClaiming the Conversation on Education)
When: 9:30 (Door opens at 9am) – 5:00, March 8 (Sat)
Who: Teacher educators, scholars, student teachers, teachers, librarians, parents, students, other concerned citizens.
Where: Library 3rd floor, Teachers College at Columbia University
Brief outline of the day:
Morning (Door opens at 9:00am)
1. 9:30am – Opening + edTPA Overview (Macro perspective: issues, challenges, and questions surrounding edTPA) + Open Forum
Break: 10:30-10:45am
2. 10:45am – Experiences (Micro, on-the-ground perspectives – Panel) + open forum
12:15 – 1:15pm – Lunch break
3. 1:15pm – Ongoing initiatives (How institutions/groups are coping with issues and challenges – Panel) + Open forum + Breakout discussions for new initiatives
3:45 – 4:00pm Coffee break
4. 4:00 – 4:45pm Report back
5. 5:00pm Closure
